Both Comco and Fetware sell fitted matress
protectors that can be used as bottom sheets. The Comco one is translucent and
can be put over a matress cover with a color or design that will show through
and add a very special touch. If you use a heating item and you want Baby to
have only rubber where she can feel her bedclothes, put it under the matress
cover or get one that is designed specially for that purpose. You can use it to
pre-warm Baby's bed as rubber bedlothes tend to get cold in the winter. You will
want to put powder on the sheets whtn you put Baby to bed.
For a "comforter" you can use a shower curtain made of thick material with a
pretty design on it.
TO MAKE
1. Cut 2 pieces of the material so that it is the full width; 51 inches and 90
inches long.
2. For the bottom sheet, lay the material with the glossier side up. At each end attach tuck flaps at the left and right that go under the mattress.
3. the "draw sheet" is just a 1 x 2 yard of rubber that goes where Baby's chastity area is. It is just another layer of rubber. This is used for babies over the cloth bottom crib sheet which is over the rubber sheet that protects the mattress.
4. Using the glossier side as the bottom, attach along the side
a full-length or 3 shorter "tuck flapes" these can be made of any material. We
recommend the flannel backed tablecloth material with the flannel on the bottm
so that it does not slide under the matress when it is tucked in. These flaps
should be about 20 inches wide to fit well under the matress and stay in place.
TO USE
Bottom and top sheets:Simply tuck the added materil fully under the matress as though it ware an ordianry sheet or blanket and tuck the end in at the foot of the bed. The draw sheet is laid lengthwise across the bottm sheet where Baby's chastity area will be and both ends are tucked in
