Why is this site arranged as it is?
To promote realism and all that this brings with it. In real life, if you came to such a place, you would do different things in different parts of the place. For example; sewing. You would learn it at the Lady D'Arielle Girls' School or Mommy would learn it at the Veronica Court Home Economics classes. You would buy fabrics at the shopping plaza and Mommy would find actual projects and patterns at Veronica Court. In all cases, the subject matter is the sam - sewing but the different aspects; learning, buying and doing are at different parts of here, as in real life Also the place would be arranged so that the parts where persons live are further away from the place where you come in even though that is where there is the most going on. This is counter-intuitive but is the most like real life since in any kind of institution where persons live in, they put the living areas furthest away from the noise and bother, Once you understand it will not be that difficult . Also, this unusual type of arrangement means you will need to learn your way around here. That, too, is like real life; When you go to a new place, you have to learn your way around. If you decide that you like what is here and save the parts that are special to you, that will not be an issue. Another thing you will find is that the "places" and "rooms" are usually no larger that one to one and a half "screens" in size. This meas that there are many pages or in video game parlance, screens. This means that you need not do a great deal of scrolling. The reading materisl may be otherwise but the places, except for the "D'Arielle Estate", which will be your map, are not very large

If I like what I find here, is there any way to save it or come back Easily?
Yes to both. If you have a favorite part of one of the seven major parts, you can save it directly. You can also save the "D'Arielle Estate" page as a kind of site map. For thsoe who are interested enough to look over the place well, we have a Fast Navigation Page that acts as a one-screen portal to the major places and parts of special interest

How come there is no chatroom?
First, chat rooms are fussy and high-maintenance. Seocnd. a good webmail, which I will repeat here because I cannot tell you enough, you are told to get and this is one of the reasons, has chat in it and there are plenty of IM's (Internet Messengers) that allow more than two persons to chat (conferencing) I have been with as many as 3 others, after that it gets crazy anyway

What if there are parts I do not like and would rather not have?
Well then you would have to custom save those parts that you like one at a time. This is a more time-consuming and laborious process and if you do, who is to say that your interests might not grow into other areas or that we may put things that you would like in places that you did not save: RUFFLES & RIBBONS GIRLS' HOME grows as it wishes, not as you or I wish.

What do you mean when you say that RUFFLES & RIBBNOS GIRLS' HOME "makes you the star of the show!"?
You are the "Little Girl" that is being talked to or about or the Mommy, Mistress, Stepmother, Babysitter or Rubber Nurse. who is being addressed. You participate in the activities that suit you. You bring, by way of the message board, the things you think are important, If we like them, we incorporate them and you have the chance to put in your own tuppence worth (so long as it meets the Code of Conduct). Also, RUFFLES & RIBBONS GIRLS' HOME is not "scripted". So long as you accept certain very general pre-existing conditions you exist here as an independent entity with your own "story" which you may or may not share with others whom you find to be alike to you. RUFFLES & RIBBONS GIRLS' HOME is like a stage with some props and guidance and you do the rest, or a theme park where the "places" are the "rides" and your mommy, mistress, etc... decides what best fits you and how you need to feel.

What About Security?
Well, it is called security for just that reason. While nobody can guarantee 100% protection, there are things you CAN do to get some protection. This was discussed at the Gatehouse. We recommend that, if you have not done so by now, your first stop by the Post Office and that you get a mailbox that you use here. Some, such as Yahoo! have virus scanning. Also, if you need secrecy, then you need not take the mailbox home with you, it should come right up when you open the link. If you fail to do this, We cannot be responsible for what happens to you--and there are some nasty things out there that can happen to you.

Just How Big is RUFFELS & RIBBONS GIRLS' HOME?
That is almost a trick question as it can be answered in several ways. It can be answered by the amount of space it takes up and that is at least 300 megabytes. It can be answered in the way it is divided up that is, the number of pages currently that is over 200, this can be further broken down in how those pages are written. Are they long ones where you scroll forever or short ones where the whole page takes up only one screen. The answer is both. "Places" and "Rooms" are short about one to one and a half screensful and content pages may be long. The accepted standard for a reading page is five screens full. Another variable is the relative amount of grafix (different from "graphics" which means pictures; "grafix" is slang for image-related and refers to pictures, types, "codes" and other things like that) and text. For example the Main page msy hsbr over a dozen graphic links all in about 1-1/6 screens. If that were fully explained text work the page would be much longer. This is content density; the famous "A picture is worth a thousand words". Size can be decieving, too. Because there are links to other places, RUFFLES & RIBBONS GIRLS' HOME sort of "opens up" like a Fairy Palace play set. Thus a place that is less than 100 megabytes may subsume several million MB and make them part of itself. Still another way to measure size is how many persons are involved and bring their friends here. You can measure it by how much there is to do and get here and we hope that will be bunches and bunches. Related to that kind of measurement is how many activities (reading, posting, making things, shopping, etc there are per unit of "space" and called content density: "Space" can be either pages or megabytes. Pages makes sense if you are measuring the density for each section since each page, no matter how big is single "room" and the location that you do, get or read that content and all content is on pages. Megabytes is a good overall measure and a general way to measure. That kind of meesurement is called a ratio and the smaller the number the bigger the place, If there are 2 things that you can do in 2 megabytes then that number is 1, if there are 4 things you can do then the answer is .5. That is complicated by the kind of activity. Is it something you can only do once, like sign a guestbook or is it something you can do many times, like make different kinds of stationery, If the former and the place is 1 megabyte then the answer is one, If the latter and there are 2 kinds of stationery you can make then the answer is .5. If there are 4 kinds of stationery you can make then the answer is .25 Well, we have over 10 activities here, most of which can be done more than 5 and some can be done until you run out of pictures, backgrounds or whatver and there will be many, many pictures in the Picture Books. You could spend a whole day here making note papers or I Love My... Statioery. So, lean what you can do here and divide that into however many megabytes there are Some Mommies, Mistresses and others may wish to do their real-life nurseries after RRGH. At that point, It will be measured by some other means. All these ways of measuring are true becuase they each and all touch on some vital aspect or part of RUFFLES & RIBBNOS GIRLS' HOME. So if you ask me how big RUFFELS & RIBBONS GIRLS' HOME is. I will just spread my arms way out and say "This big".

What kind of persons is it made for?
While all are welcome, some will like it more than others and do better here. It is made for AB/Adult Little Girls, M or F with strong rubber/plastic chastizement

What about getting aroound?
NAVIGATION: The navigationa arrangement uses a tiered or level mode where you go into major, then mid then detail. For example you go to the Library (major), then you pick oout a book (mid level) then you read each page (detail). To promote ease of going between the major parts, each of them has links to the others at the bottom. For navigatiing within major parts, you have two ways, if the detail is only one or two pages then you just Back out. A detail section with three or more pages opens in a new window. So does an off-site link. This is to prevent the build-up of a large Back-log. That way, you do not create a labyrinth that you must figure your way out of nor end up storing a large number of pages. Also, because of the way this place is built (called a "tree" because all the major parts branch off from the map). Unless this is your first visit, you can get back outside to the "trunk" by just going "Back" once or twice and move on to the next place from the main room of each place RUFFLES & RIBBONS GIRLS' HOME.
