you
cannot sew well enough to work with baby rubber nor have the professional tools
and treaing to heat-seal seams or patches, take heart. There are adhesives on
the market that will fasten these materials to themselves or other things very
well. We will add to this list from time to time. The charateristics that we
look for are that they actually dry and when dry, are flexible and clear (while
opaue and semi-opaque are all right for opaque materials in genersl, you must be
sure not to let any get onto areas that will show), do not require any special
care or processes to use other than the usual recommendations, in other words;
use right out of the tube, you ought be able to get them at least one of these
at a major hardware chain like Tru-Value or Ace or a "..-Mart". In general look
at the list of meterials that the adhesive works on
GOOP. This semi-gelatinous cement is an all purpose glue of which there are
several kinds, for our purposes, get the MARINE or HOUSEHOLD
Homax WELDER. This is thinner than GOOP but "sets" faster.
NYPBCO WELDER. I have not seen this in years but it is a semi-gelatinous
adhesive like GOOP but holds better.
All of these create a bond that is as strong as the material when used
properly and they dry flexible.ALWAYS BE SURE TO LET THE GLUE DRY COMPLETELY
BEFOR USING. THIS IS FOR TWO REASONS, FIRST; THAT MAKES SURE THAT THE SEAM IS AS
STRONG AS CAN BE. SECOND; THESE GLUES CONTAIN CHEMICALS THAT YOU WILL WANT TO BE
SURE HAVE GONE COMPLETELY AWAY.
