MATERIALS, DYES and ADHESIVES
The things you will need to make the special items shown here and where to get them.

A.C. MATERIAL:
These are the materials that they use for their own items

PLASTIC

this would be five star except that it is somewhat thin and not good for close contact with the body. It comes in colors; pink (the same color as this page so you know it is just sooo rubber panty!), navy blue, yellow and clear. While not a good material for putting on the body, it is a light-middle weight, smooth plastic that is excellent for trim such as curtains and dresser toppers and outer clothes such as pinafores, overdresses and the like. it is what they make their rubber panties from and they are pretty good.

Sold by the meter and is about 46 inches wide.

RUBBER

This is a smooth middle weight, fairly durable, rubber sold in white, blue and dark pink opaque and translucent natura They also make panties from this material that are very good.l. It can be put on the body without deteriorating. Would be five star if the pink were light in color. the material is about 35 inches wide.

AC Medical has $25.00 minimum order policy

NOTE: AC Medical claims not to be AB/Rubber friendly, However. the large number, and style of some of the pictures, the way they understand materials and styles having recommended to us some very AB/Little Girl items of which they seem proud, as well as the tone of some of their discussions with us and what one of the persons who does their photo modelling has said to me suggests otherwise. From what I understand. this AB "non-friendliness" is to keep their tax-free status. Keep discussions very general and avoid AB/Rubber topics. They are a valuable resource. We do not wish to lose them

COLORING SUPPLIES

NU-LIFE

Plastic dye There are times when you need to either change the color of an item or make it opaque. An example of this is if you wish to make a bedspread from the Comco material (recommended) This comes in about two dozen colors including metallic gold and silver (which we have not tried

If not applied properly it does come off; So follow directions and let it dry thouroughly. After it has dried, dust with baby powder. You may have to renew the color every now and then. Also if this is being used to make a material borderline opaque, for example spraying the back of a pink item , be sure to keep the coating as evenly thick as possible unless you want some parts less opaque than others.

There are others like this, one is called Magix or Magic Do not use the Kiwi brand as it is made for shoes and gives a leathery finish and does come off rather easily.

NOT RECOMMENDED FOR USE WITH ANYTHING THAT COMES IN CONTACT WITH THE BODY.

RIT and TINTEX DYES

Fabric Dyes Some materials, like the Comco can be dyed using very warm or somewhat or even full hot water. You may want to color such materials without making them opaque. These dyes serve very well and come in a variety of colors

ADHESVES
If you cannot sew well enough to work with baby rubber nor have the professional tools and treaing to heat-seal seams or patches, take heart. There are adhesives on the market that will fasten these materials to themselves or other things very well. We will add to this list from time to time. The charateristics that we look for are that they actually dry and when dry, are flexible and clear (while opaue and semi-opaque are all right for opaque materials in genersl, you must be sure not to let any get onto areas that will show), do not require any special care or processes to use other than the usual recommendations, in other words; use right out of the tube, you ought be able to get them at least one of these at a major hardware chain like Tru-Value or Ace or a "..-Mart". In general look at the list of meterials that the adhesive works on

GOOP. This semi-gelatinous cement is an all purpose glue of which there are several kinds, for our purposes, get the MARINE or HOUSEHOLD

Homax WELDER. This is thinner than GOOP, "sets" faster but does not hold as well

NYPBCO WELDER. I have not seen this in years but it is a semi-gelatinous adhesive like GOOP but holds better.

All of these dry flexible and crystal clear. ALWAYS BE SURE TO LET THE GLUE DRY COMPLETELY BEFOR USING. THIS IS FOR TWO REASONS, FIRST; THAT MAKES SURE THAT THE SEAM IS AS STRONG AS CAN BE. SECOND; THESE GLUES CONTAIN CHEMICALS THAT YOU WILL WANT TO BE SURE HAVE GONE COMPLETELY AWAY.
