Nestled snugly on over 100 acres of forested land dominated by a body of water called Lac D'Arc-en-ciel. The D'Arielle Estate is secluded in this general area. This has been a haven for distressed girls for over 45 years and continues to be the oldest such place not run by nuns and one of several throughout the world.
The group involved is the D'Arielle Ladies' Society. Formerly known as the D'Arielle Society for the Recovery of Wayward Girls", they provide living quarters, social support and education for troubled girls in a protected environment. In addition, under the leadership of the recently deceased Lady Veronica Lee D'Darielle, the group also acts to prevent waywardness in girls. The methods laid out by Miss D'Arielle are listed as Appearance, Occupation, Education and Discipline in a feminine setting. The "signs of waywardness" according to Miss D'Arielle are "whineyness, overactiveness, forwardness, gossipiness and disbedience" among others. The "feminine setting" is a girls' home that holds a dozen or so girls, a school, a library and a shopping plaza that deals in femininie items. |
![]() Recently, there have been some changes. An apartment complex has been added for ladies with Little Girls who wish to raise them by the precepts of Lady D'Arielle. Also the estate has changed hands form Diana D'Arielle to two friends of hers. Sandra Lynelle Blanchette and Bridget Alicia La Rochelle. Miss Blanchette has stressed that the place would be run according to the D'Arielle precepts. She has changed the name of the girls' home to RUFFLES & RIBBONS GIRLS' HOME. "The number of mothers who want to raise their girls by the D'Arielle precepts has gone up tremendously" says Housemistress Sandra Blanchette, |

"This is a result of the de-feminization of girls. We are so popular that we have had to add a post office".
She is assisted by Miss La Rochelle, two other "nurses", several teachers at the Lady D'Arielle Girls' School and other staff. The school teaches both academics and "Feminine Arts" as well as having other courses for both girls and ladies, such as ballet, ettiquette and the like. They also accept non-resident students. One of the boasts of the Girls' Home is that they use "spnak-free chastizement", that relies on "babyfication" which they claim makes them very very modern. "We have a very familial atmosphere here which helps tremendously" said Miss La Rochelle, "Also we make extensive use of waterproof easy-to-clean material that are generally called 'rubber', even to using it for curtains, bedspreads, table covers and see-through overgarments. We get around the 'baby rubber panties' connotation by calling it 'French Satin'". A RUFFLES & RIBBONS GIRLS' HOME girl is very recognizable by her manner of dress, almost always including a short full skirt, transparent "Fairylet's cape" and a tiara. Says Miss La Rochelle "it gieve her a strong feminine self-image with much Fairy". |
