Rubber chastizement goes back to Queen Tiara when Lady Melestra used it to help Tiara control Darylette, who had been a problem from the time she was found and made Princess Adopt until Queen Sharilyn dealt with here for once and for all. The overwhelming bulk of Fairy chastizement is rubber chastizement of some kind to the point where there is enough demand to have Rubber Nursing as a full vocation with its own academy and, to honor Melestra, the head Rubber Nurse is a Lady of the Hierarchy like Lady Flower or Lady Tiara

The full rubber chastizement comes from the time of the Pink Horror, when the dark haired and dark eyed Fairies enslaved and severely mistreated the light haired and eyed. This involved dressing them only in rubber with pink rubber underthings and making them go through a nasty regimen that was so severe that we are unable to tolerate anything pink directly on our bodies to this day, even the most scrumptious Fairy satin; it is that well-remembered in our building blocks. This lasted for three lifetimes; 90 generations. It ended in the Second Great Rebellion, when, mistreated beyond anyone's ability to take, the "blondies" revolted. The slave keepers, having lived off the work of their slaves, had let their skills of magic fall into nearly total disuse and it was so easy to beat them that it was over in one night. If you note, there are no dark haired Fairies and the violet eyed are sent away because at the end of their rule, the dark haired often had violet eyes and we still fear that trait

These slave keepers called themselves "sryl" which means "lady" in the oldest form of Parla, our language. This refers specifically to the ones of our numbers who were made trustees and overseers in Malicia's palace.

We very seldom speak of the sryl for two reasons: First, it is a source of shame that any of our people could be so cruel. Second, we fear their return, if not in the form of dark haired and eyed than by some other means that will turn some of us evil and against the others

Aside from a few obscure sryl customes and ways, notably some of the briding things used only in rare special cases, and of which I have compiled the works of one of the major proponents in a separate volume for the enjoyment of dear Bridget Alicia La Rochelle, full rubber chastizement is the only sryl custom that we have kept in its full and original form.
